Hoops for the Ages 3-on-3 Tournament
Calling all male and female hoopsters age 40 and beyond!
The City of Evanston and the Levy Senior Center Foundation, are presenting the annual Hoops for the Ages 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, June 7, 2025. Any basketball player age 40+ is invited to get a team together and participate.
The goal of the tournament is to celebrate senior basketball players who are proving that hoops can be played at any age! And to serve as a tune-up for the National Senior Games being held in Des Moines, IA July 24 through August 4.
Supporting the Levy Senior Center Foundation
Hoops, for the Ages is a fundraising event. All proceeds in excess of expenses will be donated to the Levy Senior Center Foundation. The foundation supports programs for older adults in the Evanston and greater Chicagoland communities. All participants and fans are encouraged to consider making a donation to the foundation.
Schedule
The tournament will take place at the Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave, Evanston, IL 60201.
Teams and Format
More than 100 basketball players between 40 to 90 years of age are expected to participate in the tournament in teams grouped by age. The men's and women's teams will compete at these age levels: 40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.
The tournament is open to 24 men's teams and 12 women's teams.
Each 3-on-3 game is played with six players (3 per team) on the court in a half-court setup. Just as in traditional basketball, each basket is worth two or three points, with foul shots earning one point. A game consists of two 15-minute halves and will follow National Senior Games Rules.

The deadline to register is May 31, 2025.
About the Levy Senior Center Foundation
The Levy Senior Center Foundation was created to provide funds to the Levy Senior Center to enhance its programming, offset expenses and improve the facility.
The partnership between the Foundation and the City of Evanston enables the Levy Senior Center to sustain its first-rate programming and facility. For more than 50 years, the Levy Senior Center has been providing outstanding programs and support for thousands of older adults in our community.
The Center's services and programs help Evanston-area older adults remain active, independent, and connected.
